UNFRAG
MENTED

Belonging in the 21st Century

By Abdul-Rahman Akingbola  ·  Personal Imprint Publication  ·  2026

Three years of meditative thinking, observing, and seeking. Years of curiosity, diving deep to discover the hidden knowledge that sits beneath the human surface. The most driven, most devoted, most aware people around me — founders, people of faith, children of diaspora, an entire generation born into the digital age — were not broken by their circumstances. They were fractured by their era. Simply scattered across so many versions of themselves that the original, the real, unperformed, unoptimised self had become almost impossible to locate.

"Fragmentation is not a symptom.
It is the disease.
And integration is not a feature —
it is the foundation."

— Abdul-Rahman Akingbola, UNFRAGMENTED

We are living through the age of the scattered self. Visible everywhere. Present nowhere. Performing constantly. Belonging rarely. Not misguided. Not incapable. Not lacking.

I wrote UNFRAGMENTED to answer one question across 75 chapters: what does it look like when everything finally works together? Physicality, spirituality, the heart, mind, body, and soul all becoming centred as one cohesive structure.

Having self-realisation of a higher purpose allows you to begin to seek to reassemble and align back to the centre. Because you are not incapable. You are most likely just uncentred.

What This Book Is

A Framework for the Fragmented Age

This book began with a curious observation. The most driven, most devoted, most aware people around me — founders, people of faith, children of diaspora, an entire generation born into the digital age — were not broken by their circumstances. They were fractured by their era.

Not misguided. Not incapable. Not lacking. Simply scattered across so many versions of themselves that the original — the real, unperformed, unoptimised self — had become almost impossible to locate.

It is not about being incapable or not having what it takes. It is about learning to piece the internal fragments back into a core foundational structure that makes the human whole. The Sufi tradition calls this centre the qalb: the heart. Every experience either gathers us back to that centre or scatters us further from it.

This book teaches you to tell the difference. And to choose. Drawing on Sufi-centred psychology, Quranic wisdom, and modern cognitive science, it offers a grounded path from a life of performance to a life of presence.

01
The Inner Life
Why the heart becomes scattered. What shame, comparison, and digital noise do to the soul. The Sufi understanding of the heart as a centre of gravity offers both a precise diagnosis and a precise cure.
02
The Relational Life
How belonging without approval works. Why attachment is not love. What it means to repair rather than abandon. How to build relationships that do not require you to disappear.
03
The Civic Life
How the same principles of integration that restore a person can restore a community, an organisation, and a city. The civic life as the outer expression of the integrated interior.
Inside the Book

75 Chapters. Three Frameworks. One Mission.

UNFRAGMENTED is for the founder who cannot find stillness. For the person of faith navigating a world engineered for distraction. For the diaspora or Gen Z child caught between cultures and expectations. For anyone who has looked at their own current state of existence and known, quietly, that it does not have to be this way.

Chapter One

The Disease of Being Everywhere

"You are not shallow. You are overwhelmed. You are trying to assemble a self from fragments. And the fragments don't speak to each other."

Chapter Two

The Heart Has Gates

The Sufi anatomy of the interior. The first act of integration is learning what you let in and what you keep out.

Chapter Three

Sincerity: The End of Acting

On the difference between a life of performance and a life of presence. And the terrifying relief of choosing the latter.

Chapter Ten

The Crowd Is Not a Compass

Why belonging rooted in approval is not belonging at all. How to locate a centre that does not shift with every opinion.

Chapter Twenty-Four

Belonging Without Approval

The most radical act in the age of the algorithm: to be known — fully, without performance — and to remain.

Chapter Fifty-Three

The Courage to Be Unimpressive

"You were taught to chase belonging outward. But belonging begins inward — not as self-obsession, but as self-recognition."

75 chapters across three integrated frameworks: the personal, the relational, the civic

About the Author

Abdul-Rahman Akingbola

Abdul-Rahman Akingbola is a polymathic founder, cognitive innovator, and author dedicated to solving the defining crisis of our time: fragmentation. Not just of systems and cities, but of the human soul itself.

His work began at the intersection of sound and code. Early experiments in AI-driven music automation raised the question that now defines his life's work: how does technology harmonize the human mind rather than scatter it? That inquiry led him through product and business management at BrainStation and the University of Toronto, the co-founding of FWC26 Marketing Group, and ultimately to founding Dalia Tech Inc.

At Dalia Tech, he engineers cognitive hardware: precision instruments and intelligent wearables designed to optimize human cognitive performance. UNFRAGMENTED is the literary expression of that same mission, applied to every human being.

What Readers Are Saying

"

A rare book that does not flatter you. It diagnoses you, then gently but firmly shows you the way through. I read it in two sittings and have not stopped thinking about it.

"

Abdul-Rahman brings together frameworks I had never seen in the same room: Sufi wisdom, cognitive science, and systems thinking. The result is something genuinely new. And urgently needed.

"

This is the book I needed as a founder. The chapter on sincerity alone changed how I show up. UNFRAGMENTED is not self-help. It is self-architecture.
